I quite agree with those who have called him a douche. Why is she changing? That I’m-gonna-order-you-around-and-insult-you-and-invade-your-space-and-it’s-okay-because-the-bad-guys-are-even-worse-than-me shtick wasn’t cool in when Emma Bull was doing it, and it’s not cool now.
I don’t see the moral issues so maybe this only bothered me when she tries to be high and mighty about everything, but come on girl. She intended to go to law school but after an internship with a firm of Criminal Attorneys, decided against it. I have no fucking idea what the hell is monin on and I don’t feel betrayed at all, actually I’m so into this. Proudly and unbiasedly, she chooses her own higher purpose, and I have to applaud bloocfever for that.
Even though we aren’t given answers to any of the big mysteries, we do find out little snippets. Possible minor spoilers if you haven’t read the first book and if any of my random ramblings turn out to be true Same applies to Barrons, who is a total enigma.
Mac tries to be the voice of reason, only God knows why, and it actually comes across as completely moronic. Barrons is an abusive arsehole, she has the emotional maturity bloodfeer a teenager, there is no character development.

So many of my friends love this series, and there were elements in that first book that were good, so I’m willing to give this second one a try They’re both insanely gorgeous, immortal, want a lowly human woman who has unique powers, and view humans as tools to further their goals.
I’m not even really enjoying the story. What does everybody else see in this series? The world and the Fae are interesting! Maybe my tolerance for STOOPID has increased a bit after finishing Red Rising view spoiler [amazing science fiction series with a kick-petunia hero going around kicking petunias hide spoiler ]?

It jarred me that a modern woman, even in her early twenties, can be so immature when it comes to dealing with the opposite sex, but the whole Fever series is on some level a story about the personal growth. Just because you’re going along voluntarily doesn’t make it okay.
