We are experiencing technical difficulties. I still reread these books often and enjoy them but how I wish Eddings had known when to say enough. That said it is incredibly well written in true Eddings crafting but this does little to alleviate the boredom or the intense dislike for tye arrogant, manipulative, murderous bordering on genocide main cast. Not as good as the Belgariad, but the characters are great.

This is the best example of the Eddings’s otherwise-liberal politics totally falling down when it comes to certain kinds of gender stereotyping – of course the young man should bang the hot topless woman, he’s a man, he’ll enjoy it no matter how he’s protesting now. Much like its prequel trilogy, the Elenium, Eddings’ Tamuli is a light, entertaining read that immerses the reader in a detailed world that the characters fully explore over the course of three books.
