My OCD to finish what I start has kept me through some slow starts that got better. The Word is divided into units which be all in one piece and should be so taken, but the pieces can be had in any order being tied up back and forth, in and out fore and aft like an innaresting sex arrangement.
Unlike the preceding sections, WORD constitutes a single piece of writing, albeit possibly the most fragmented, digressive, and insane piece of writing I have ever set my eyes on.

May 29, Mantis Matsuri rated it really liked it. The Junkie Christmas was an oddly optimistic piece, considering the subject matter; I’d wager anything Bill would have given his left arm in real life to get high without the drugs, using pure altruism.
Some of it was funny, but its kinda that same stuff he did much better in Naked Lunch. WORD was originally written as part of the Naked Lunch manuscript but since only a few passages survived into the final draft, it is included in Interzone as a novella making up the third section. The first section of the book is a series of very short stories, funny and offbeat, yet somewhat mediocre, still enjoyable.
Either you want his ideas in your stream of consciousness, or you unfollow and hide his observations from your newsfeed. Burroughs collaborated with the painter Brion Gysin in Paris and London in the s and s, and in the s embarked on his own painting career the sneers of the art establishment deterred his painting roughly as much as the sneers of the literary establishment had deterred his writing; like the innumerable cultural icons devoted to his work, Burroughs was not the type to be impressed by the fussy incomprehension of the New Yorker set.
